Lesson details

Understanding body action intellectually is one thing. Building it into your movement system is another.

This lesson is where you begin turning the Spiral Staircase into a repeatable physical skill through guided reps, awareness, and structured movement training. Starting with the feet together drill before progressing into wide stance movements, you begin organizing the body from the ground up — teaching the feet, knees, hips, core, chest, shoulders, arms, and club to work together as one connected system.

Most golfers attempt to improve by reacting to golf shots. Here, we train the movement before the shot ever happens. This is where the body learns how to stabilize, sequence, reverse the spiral, and create effortless release without conscious manipulation.

Train the movement daily… and consistency stops becoming accidental.

🚨 FOR REAL GOLF ANORAKS ONLY — DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU’RE IN THE 0.01% CLUB.

The biggest difference between elite players and most amateurs is not talent — it is movement organization.

Elite players have trained the body so extensively that movement becomes autonomous under speed. Most golfers, however, only experience the movement while reacting to golf balls. The body never truly learns the system — it simply reacts to outcomes.

This is why Let’s Build matters.

The goal here is not to “hit golf shots.” The goal is to train the component parts of the movement system until the body organizes itself naturally.

Why the Spiral Staircase Works

The Spiral Staircase blends:

• Rotation

• Lateral pressure shift

• Vertical force production

into one coordinated movement pattern.

The movement climbs:

• Around

• Up

• Inward

before reversing:

• Down

• Around

• Outward

before finally spiraling back:

• Around

• Up

• Inward

into balance again.

This continuous organization of force is what creates repeatable motion under speed.

Feet Together — Why It Changes Everything

Feet together immediately exposes instability.

Without a large base of support:

• Excessive sway becomes difficult

• Poor sequencing becomes obvious

• Pressure mismanagement is exposed

• The body must self-organize around centre

This is why 99.9% of golfers would instantly improve their movement awareness through feet together training.

The drill forces:

• Better pressure management

• Improved balance point control

• Central column stability

• More natural sequencing

• Better ground interaction

The body cannot hide inefficiency.

The Hidden Truth About the Release

One of the most important concepts in this lesson is understanding that the release is largely a reaction to organized movement.

When the body spirals correctly:

• The club naturally gains depth

• The shaft naturally wants to load

• The clubhead naturally wants to release

The player no longer needs to “throw” the club manually.

This is why elite players appear fluid through impact. The body has already reversed the spiral before the club changes direction.

The club is responding to forces already created.

Why Shadow Work Is So Powerful

Top players constantly rehearse movement without golf balls because the nervous system learns movement patterns more effectively without outcome distraction.

This improves:

• Motor patterning

• Proprioception

• Sequencing

• Rhythm

• Movement awareness

This is why gymnasts rehearse movements before routines and why world-class golfers constantly perform shadow rehearsals.

The body learns through repetition of movement quality — not simply ball striking quantity.

The Weight of the Club Changes Everything

A powerful insight from this lesson:

the club itself teaches the body how to move.

As the club gains momentum:

• The body must stabilize dynamically

• Ground force naturally increases

• The spiral must reverse to support the load

• Width and extension become reactions, not forced positions

This is why heavier training clubs can improve movement awareness so effectively. The body instinctively organizes itself around load.

The Real Goal

You are not trying to manufacture a perfect-looking swing.

You are training a repeatable movement system your body can organize subconsciously under pressure.

Because when the engine room repeats…

the swing starts organizing itself.

Train the spiral.

Train the system.

Build the movement daily.

This is The Spiral Code.
