Lesson details

In this Fast Track lesson, Jonathan Craddock reveals the natural 3D flow your body is designed to follow: spiral up and un-spiral down, letting lateral shift and rotation happen as a consequence.

This isn’t about placing the club. It’s about understanding how the body naturally moves. How it stores and transfers energy through the muscle structure. When you train movement this way, you protect your joints, preserve your energy, and build consistency that lasts across rounds, seasons, and age.

This is the 3D blueprint behind sustainable power, the key to playing better for longer.

Most golfers try to control rotation, lateral shift, and vertical motion all at once, but the body can’t time three dimensions in a millisecond. Pete Cowen teaches the truth:

Keep it simple. You don’t need the perfect body action, you just need one that’s constant.

And it starts with one driver:
Vertical movement leads. Everything else follows.

Here’s why:

When you spiral down with intention, the legs naturally press into the ground. That pressure sends energy across the pelvis — the lateral move golfers spend years trying to force. Once the shift completes, the body automatically rotates — clean, efficient, unhurried.

Why Forced Rotation Breaks You

Golfers who try to “turn more” often twist through areas not built for rotation, especially the lumbar spine, leading to lower back pain. The compensation then moves into the forearms and wrists, producing the classic golfer’s elbow.

Spiral motion solves this because it is the body’s native movement pattern:

  • It distributes load through muscle and fascia

  • It sequences pressure before rotation

  • It removes late manipulations

  • It protects the spine by moving the way the body is designed to move

What You’ll Feel When it Clicks

  • You’ll coil upward like a spring, not twist flat.

  • You’ll load downward into the legs using the club correctly, not dragging the handle.

  • You’ll feel the pelvis shift without slide or sway.

  • Rotation will arrive on its own, fast, free, and coordinated.

Pete says it best:
“Your body can’t time all three dimensions.
Give it the one it understands — up and down — and the rest organises itself.”

This 3D sequence is the foundation of longevity. For anyone who values their body, and their game, it is essential learning.

This isn’t a trick.
This is The Spiral Code.
